When I first decided to do an information interview, I was really nervous and I was really worried that the employer would say "no" and not have enough time to meet with me. But, when I contacted the employer and I finally made the call, I found that the employer was really receptive to my questions and was really happy to answer any questions about the occupation that I was interested in. And, after I finished the interview, I found that I'd gained a lot of positive experiences out of it. A few of these are my interview skills and I was able to gain a realistic perspective on not just the job requirements and the things that you might find out in an information search on an occupation, but I found that I gained a lot of insight into the actual occupation, meeting with somebody face-to-face.
